Yaseen Shareef or Ya-sin is the heart of the Quran,36th surah, located in para number 22nd and 23rd of the Holy Quran. There are 83 verses in this surah. These verses are categorized into five groups or parts, each conveying its splendid message. It offers many different insights, messages, and lessons to the believers. In this blog post, I will guide you through explaining the Ayats of Surah Yaseen for better understanding and guidance to bless your life and Akhirah.

1. First 12 Ayats of Surah Yaseen

This chapter starts with the sacred word YAA seen or Ya-sin making itself as the first ayat and the title of the surah as well. It is believed that the word Yaseen means to address a human being, meaning “O Human”. Nevertheless, there is no confirmation or genuine quote about confirming it. Therefore, Allah the Almighty is the knower of this secret.

The Role Of Prophet Mohammad SAW

The first section or segment of this surah contains verses 1 to 12 and discusses the being of pagans and disbelievers, despite the fact Allah sent His Messengers to them. Allah SWT addresses Hazrat Mohammad SAW in these Ayats not to worry or be grieved because of these pagans because they (Disbelievers) are at their own choice while not following the commands of Allah.

It is mentioned by Allah that the prophet Hazrat Mohammad SAW is not responsible for those who are on the wrong path and are disobeying Allah. They are punishing themselves, leading themselves to Hell, and will receive harsh and severe punishment for their sins, and will face the wrath of Allah. Allah states it:

“Whether you warn them or you do not warn them, it is alike for them, for they do not believe. You warn only him who follows the Reminder and fears the Beneficent in secret. To him bear tidings of forgiveness and a rich reward.” (Yasin 36:10-11)

2. Surah Yassen Ayats 13 -32

This part commences with Ayat 13 and ends at Ayat 32. Here Allah SWT warns the pagans by telling the story of a city and its dwellers, who were destroyed and demolished by Allah for their disbelief and sins. There are opinions from different Islamic scholars, saying it was the city of Antakia (Turkey), while some suggest that it is not a historical event but an example to warn disbelievers to shun evil and to come to the right path.

Mission Of Three Messengers

Allah SWT sent 3 Messengers at the same time to the dwellers of that Town whose name is not known. All the messengers taught them (disbelievers) the Monotheism, worshipping one and only Allah. Unfortunately, those people rejected that Holy message and ridiculed them (the messengers) warning them of harming and punishing them with stones. They were arrogant, stubborn, and wicked and did not listen to the messengers except only one who embraced the will of Allah.

Argument of the Believer

He rather turned towards the disbelievers saying:

“For what cause should I not serve Him Who has created me, and to whom you will be brought back? Shall I take gods in place of Him when, should the Beneficent wish me any harm, their intercession will not avail me, nor can they save?” (Yasin 36:22-23)

Consequences for Disbelievers

Allah SWT loves and blesses those who make sacrifices for His sake, therefore that pious man, who was slain possibly by those pagans, was blessed with Jannah. For other residents of the town, a terrible disaster came in the form of blasts or shouts and blew them. Those who underestimate and devalue the message of Allah are at a great loss and they cannot escape His wrath.

3. Ayats 33-50 Of Yaa sin

In section no 3 some ayats reveal the signs of the existence of Allah. These ayats are meant to enhance and strengthen our faith and belief. There is a message for the disbelievers to worship one and only Allah and accept the truth.

The turning of the day into night as well as their simultaneous occurrence in different parts of the world, and other natural phenomena like the movement of the sun, the phases of the moon, and the revolving of the earth. It also discusses how Allah taught man to sail in waters and fly into the sky.

These are the blessings and inspiration offered to man to observe and understand the power of Allah. These verses provide a great understanding and inspiration to human beings.

Signs Of Allah In sura Yasin Ayat 34-35

Allah says in these ayats:

“And We have placed therein gardens of the date palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it. Will they not, then, give thanks?” (Yasin 36:34-35)

Denial of Eternal Life

There are those who deny and ridicule or question the reality of life after death and the accountability on the Day of judgment. They often ask when, how, and where this Hell and Jannah or akhirah will take place. These are those unfortunate who do not observe and see the sign of Allah revealed from these natural facts.

4. Ayats 51-67 of sura Yaseen

These ayats deal with the Day of Judgment or Akhirah. There is a tragic fact in these verses revealing that a terrifying sound of the trumpet will be blown, reuniting the souls and the bodies of dead ones moving towards Allah SWT. They will say:

“Alas! Who has raised us from our place of sleep?

They will get the answer from the angels of Allah:

“This is what the Beneficent did promise, and the messengers spoke the truth.” (Yasin 36:52)

Then there will be another declaration that:

“This day, no soul is wronged in aught; nor are you repaid except for what you used to do.” (Yasin 36:54)

The reward  for the Righteous

This will be the resurrection day when everyone will be responsible for their own deeds, indifferent to His/her offspring, parents, relatives, and friends. All the people will be divided and grouped into good and bad ones as per their actions performed in this world.

The pious and good ones will be rewarded into paradise with their spouse enjoying blessings of Allah, like fruits or whatever they wish. They will be paced in highly comfortable shady places with all the promised luxuries.

Punishment for Disbelievers

The wrongdoers will enter Hell to be punished. For them, there will be no ease and pleasure but a painful punishment in the Hellfire.

5. Ayats 68-83 of Yasin Sharif

Ayats 68 to 83 of Surah Ya-Sin marks the last section of the surah. These ayats refer to the signs of the existence, the power, and the blessings of Allah. These ayats also discuss and reveal that man is weak and that Allah is the creator. As in one of these Ayats, Allah says:

“He whom We bring to old age, We reverse him in creation (i.e. grant weakness after strength). Have you then no sense?” (Yasin 36:68)

Allah’s favors in surah ya-sin

The favor of Allah discussed in Surah Yasin is the livestock that serves us in many ways. Some of them are used by men as a source of food, and milk, while some are used for riding and countless benefits. These are the blessings and favors of Allah that we take for granted, therefore, Allah SWT says,

See they not that it is We Who have created for them – among the things which Our hands have fashioned – cattle, which are under their dominion ”?

(Yasin 36:71)

Some people ignore and reject Quranic verses and call it poetry or something of no value. They do not worship Allah and are disbelievers because they deny the day of judgment. They say,

“Who will revive these bones when they have rotted away?” (Yasin 36:78) Allah SWT answers them by saying: “Say: He will revive them Who produced them at the first, for he is the Knower of every creation.” (Yasin 36:79)

The Absolute Authority Of Allah

These ayats confirm the absolute power, authority, and complete control of Allah on everything in this universe. Nothing is out of His knowledge and access. Whatever He wills, is done according to His commands. Thus it is a great pity for those who negate and deny these verses of the Quran. It is proven from the verse given below:

“But His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.” (Yasin 36:82)

In Ayat number 83 also, the greatness and power of Allah is discussed. This Ayat describes that all of us will have to appear before Allah for accountability for our actions. The ayat is as follows.

“Therefore, glory be to Him in Whose Hand is the dominion over all things! To Him you will be brought back.” (Yasin 36:83)
